season preview
Caldwell High School, comprised of veteran top-of-the-rotation starters and an infield blending experience with budding potential, the Coyotes march into 2017 with plenty of intrigue. Head Coach Kyle Toney will be looking to seniors Chance Norman and Dennis Engelman to pace the Coyotes on the mound. The lefty Norman and righty Engelman should provide plenty of in-game wit and clubhouse leadership.
Though youthful in age, Caldwell brings back three infielders from a season ago, once again looking to make their mark in the 21-4A conference. Junior Ethan Blinka, a third baseman with a prototypical athletic build, returns to patrol the Coyotes’ hot corner. Will Faust, a junior second baseman, should also see ample playing time up the middle for Coach Toney. A pair of talented sophomores, Kade Sanchez and Mitchell Parks, look ready to break into the Caldwell lineup in the infield and at center field, respectively.
