Southeast Senior Games: Quick Hits

EMERSON, GA - The Southeast Senior Games on Monday, July 25th will kick-off a seven day period at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA where hundreds of the country’s top uncommitted prospects will put their talents on display. This event will feature some of the top uncommitted players from the 2023 class that have been invited by their state scouting director.
The event will begin with a pro-style workout for all the position players that includes the 60 yard dash, BP with TrackMan ball flight analysis and Blast Motion swing analysis, and a defensive evaluation. Following the showcase, players will split into their teams and play a double header.
Prospects will represent their state on Teams Alabama, Carolinas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mid-Atlantic, Mississippi/Louisiana, and Tennessee.
Cloud was very impressive behind the plate on Monday showing next level blocking ability, a strong arm, and quick feet during the workout portion of the event. The muscular built Cloud carried that right into game play by being very stingy on baseballs trying to sneak by him. Cloud also squared up a few pitches during game play using a short compact, line drive approach. Look for the rising senior to contribute a great deal both offensively and defensively to an always solid Madison Ridgeland Academy squad in the spring.
The wiry, athletic OF/RHP was a pleasant surprise as he provided recruiters several options to get him on the field. A switch hitting option, Atkinson was very similar from both sides of the plate using slightly upward swing path and line drive approach. Decent speed and instinctive actions make him a reliable option on defense. On the mound, the righty showed solid arm side movement and a fastball that was consistently 85/86 mph with a solid breaking ball that needs a little consistency.
The durable framed Carron showed recruiters some upside on the mound as he worked regularly in the 83-84 mph range and ability to work the lower half of the zone with his fastball. The righty also has a solid, yet still developing breaking ball that has depth and solid shape.
The lean, athletic middle infielder has good range and an ever increasing highlight reel. At the plate, Beaugez is at his best when he finds the baseball out front and works the middle of the field. The Southeast Senior Games has already proved to be a purposeful event for Beaugez as he committed to Holmes CC last night!
Cook is another solid catching prospect with a still developing skill set. The foundation is there including solid footwork, good direction, and a strong arm. At the plate the rising senior displays a pull side approach, level bat path with the ability to go the other way if needed.
The stocky middle infielder shows plenty of consistency to make the routine play. Jenkins is a very well rounded baseball player. The knowledge of his position is there and his instinctive ability sets him apart. At the plate, the right handed hitter has plenty of pop in his stick and works with a line drive approach to the middle of the field. Jenkins looks to help a Magnolia Heights in their quest for yet another state title next spring.
