Sophomore Spotlight: SS/3B Nick Patten
December 6, 2012
Nick Patten is a 6-foot-2, 160-pound SS/3B from Butler Area HS who showed well at the Western PA Top Prospect Showcase in August. The long-limbed infielder had a solid day showcasing a solid arm (78mph) and the ability to play through the ball. His 83mph bat exit velocity was one of the best at the event. Patten used a solid lower half and good extension in his swing to consistently square the ball up during his round of batting practice. The Class of 2015 prospect should continue to add to his athletic frame and has the potential to become a quality corner infielder at the next level.
