Athleticism and bloodlines are two buzzwords that get scouts excited. With an older brother who is a freshman baseball student-athlete at Florida International, scouts can certainly check off the latter box for Penn Charter outfielder Adam Holland. But it is Holland's own athletic skill set that will really get them buzzing.
The right-handed hitter packs a punch in his 5-foot-9, 165-pound frame, already displaying gap power. However, it's his wheels that are really his calling card. Holland has shown an ability to get to top speed quickly, running down balls in the outfield and posting 4.44 and 4.47 home-to-1B times on turns.
Last season, as the only freshman in arguably the most dangerous line-up in the state (to date, six Division I commits and one Division II commit), Holland was a sparkplug in the leadoff spot, batting .378 with a .441 on-base percentage, .549 slugging percentage (nine doubles, one triple, one home run), and twelve stolen bases.
