SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIF. - The Third Annual SoCal ProCase took place last weekend at beautiful St. Pierre Field on the campus of JSerra High School. The event annually draws many of the region's top players for an exclusive and intimate event in which they workout and play a scout ball style game where pitchers face five live hitters. This iteration featured players in the class of 2022

Position players are put through the traditional pro-style workout while getting extended reps and at multiple positions. Starting with laser-timed sixties then into a batting practice session that consisted of two-rounds, players are provided an extended opportunity to showcase their baseball tools to the professional scouts and PBR California staff alike. 

Soon we will get into the data and take a closer look at what that represents, for now these stats are solely based on player performance during the workout portion of the SoCal ProCase. We intentionally left out pitching statistics as we will dive deeper into those using the Trackman data collected at the event.

These numbers are from the live BP session using the TrackMan B1 Unit. Players used wood bats.

Infield Velocity (MIF/3B/1B)

Each throwing from their primary position, velocities gathered with Stalker Sport II.

Outfield Velocity

Making throws from RF to 3B and Home.

Catcher Velocity

Popping from the crouch position.

Pop Times

Each catcher made 4-5 throws down to 2nd base.
