SoCal Player of the Week: Gabe Cobian

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - With the start of the season in the CIF-Southern Section the 2023 high school baseball season is underway in Southern California and already we have been privy to several standout performances in the early goings of the season. Because of the amount of standout performances around the region choosing one player for the weekly honor was quite difficult.  

Congratulations are in order for junior Gabe Cobian of Cypress HS as he has been awarded the SoCal Player of the Week for the week of February 26 - March 4th, 2023. 

Cobian, an OF/LHP for the Centurions and a LBSU baseball commit, had a monster two-way performance in a big two game series against the #1 team in the country in JSerra. At the plate he was 5-for-7 with 3 RBI in those 2 games. On the mound he was equally impressive going 3 scoreless innings giving up 1 walk, 1 hit and K’d 7 vs. a loaded lineup in the game they ended up taking from JSerra. Cobian is a switch-hitting athletic OF with high end bat-to-ball talent who can also run it up into the mid 80s on the mound. He’s a key piece for a Cypress Squad that has high aspirations this spring. 

We salute junior Gabe Cobian of Cypress HS on earning the Prep Baseball Report California SoCal Player of the Week.
