SoCal Player of the Week: 5/17-5/22

The Notre Dame commit put together a monster week for the Oilers both at the plate and on the mound as the Oilers swept a three-game series against league rival Los Alamitos. At the plate Aoki had three consecutive multi-hit games highlighted by his three hit performance in the series clinching second game. For the week Aoki finished 7-for-12 with two walks, a double, a homerun, 3 RBI, and 5 runs scored.

The future Fighting Irish pitcher has been a huge reason why the Oilers are off to a 22-4 start and currently sit at No. 15 in this weeks PBR California Power 25 Team Rankings and appear to be clicking on all cylinders as they close out league and head into the CIF-SS Division I playoffs where they’ll be a threat. Aoki twirled a gem in the series finale scattering three hits in a complete game shutout. He struck out six with only three balls, including all the outs, leaving the infield.

For his outstanding performances last week, we congratulate Kaden Aoki of Huntington Beach HS for being named the Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week for the week of May 17th - May 23rd. We salute his accomplishments and wish he and his teammates continued success this spring.
