SoCal Player of the Week: 5/10-5/15

2021 LHP/OF Devon Daniel (Kerman HS) has been named this week’s  Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week thanks to his outstanding performance both at the plate and on the mound last week.

Daniel threw the first Perfect Game in Lions Baseball history on Saturday. He threw 20 first-pitch strikes leading to 13 strikeouts throwing a total of 75 pitches en-route to the perfecto. Offensively Daniel had the big blow in the game with a 2-out bases loaded double to left field to break the game open 4-0 in the top of the 2nd inning. He finished the day 3-for-5 at the plate with 3 RBI’s as the Lions beat the top team in their division in Firebaugh. 

On the season Daniel is sporting a 0.50 ERA and a 5-2 record with one save. He’s thrown 42.1 IP allowing only 17 Hits, 3 Earned runs with 78 K’s and 5 walks. He’s also hitting .404 on the season with 23 hits (3 doubles), 8 RBI’s and 10 runs scored out of the leadoff spot for the Lions. Kerman’s record now stands at 14-2 and 10-1 in league. 

For his outstanding performances last week, we congratulate Devon Daniel of Kerman HS for being named the Prep Baseball Report SoCal Player of the Week for the week of May 10th - May 16th. We salute his accomplishments and wish he and his teammates continued success this spring.
