LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - With HS baseball well underway all across SoCal we have been privy to several standout performances in the early goings of the season. Because of the amount of standout performances around the region choosing one player for the weekly honor was quite difficult.  

Congratulations are in order for Sophomore Ben "Trey" Gudoy out of Francis Parker HS as he has been awarded the SoCal Player of the Week for the week of March 12th - March 18th, 2023. 

Gudoy, one of the top-ranked OFs in CA and a UCLA baseball commit, had a solid week at the plate going 4-11. Gudoy is an advanced high-contact hitter with a pretty LH swing. However, it’s what he has done on the mound specifically last week that earns him this nod. On the mound he came in relief in high-stress situations 3 TIMES earning the win in 2 of those games and a save in the other. Gudoy was not recruited as a OF so him stepping up the way he has so far this season for the Lancers is a testament to the type of winning player he is. So far this early spring season he is hitting .429 (9/21) and hasn’t given up a run in 7.1 innings pitched. 

We salute sophomore Ben "Trey" Gudoy on earning the Prep Baseball Report California SoCal Player of the Week.
