SoCal Diamond Notes 2/25/19 - 3/3/19

2019 - Drew Dalquist - Redondo Union - The senior Arizona signee was 1-0 this week in 2 starts, Pitched 10 and 1/3 innings, Had 19 strikeouts, Only 1 run, Gave up only 4 hits.

2021 Caleb Hohman - Ocean View HS - The sophomore was 9-for-12 with a HR, a triple, and 2 doubles, 6 runs scored and 6 RBI. Was 7-7 (plus a BB) against Pacifica in our dbl header.

2019 RHP Jared Karros - Mira Costa - The UCLA signee threw CG No hitter vs Gahr 1BB and 5ks.

2019 OF Kyle Morrell - El Dorado HS - The senior was 4-for-5 with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored, 2 stolen bases.

2021 Sebastian Flores - Cajon HS -  The sophomore totaled 8 hits in 13 ABs - 5 runs scored, 3 BB, 7 SBs, 2 doubles.

2019 LHP/1B David Hays - St. John Bosco HS - The Nevada signee threw a complete game vs Cypress allowing 7 hits, 0 runs and striking out five. On the week he went 4-for-6 with 2 doubles 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.

2020 RHP Arthur Aranda - St. Genevieve HS -  The jumior improved to 3-0, throwing his second complete game of the year. On 3/1 he beat St. Pius 5-0, giving up 1 hit 2 walks, 1 hit batter, and 14 strikeouts.

2019 C Connor Clift - Canyon HS - The Cal Baptist Commit was 4-for-6 with 2 RBI, a Run, and a walk.

2021 1B/LHP Jackson Betancourt - Mira Mesa High School - The uncommitted sophomore had quite the four-game week. Offensively: 8-14 (.571) 3B, R, SB; Pitching: 1-0, 7.2 IP, 1 ER, 9 K’s. 

2019 LHP/OF Dylan Cook - Ayala HS - The senior Utah Valley St Commit collected a win going 6IP 0R 3H 3K vs Chino Hills. At the plate he was 2-for-8 with 2HR, 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. 

2021 OF Cole Koniarsky - Ayala HS - The sophomore Cal State Fullerton commit was 5-for-7 with 3 doubles, an RBI and 3 runs scored. 

2019 SS/P Gilbert Lopez - Cal High - In the lone game of the week for Cal High, Lopez, a Biola University commit, threw 6 innings scattering 4 hits and allowing 1 run while striking out 8 to earn the win over Sonora.

2020 P, 1B Marco Calderon - Indio High School - Over a 2 game span, 7 innings pitched, 3 hits, 13 Ks, 0 Runs allowed. Calderon picked up 1 win, the Rajahs won both games.

2019 1B Ryan Van Earden - Don Lugo HS - The senior first baseman last week went 3-for-7 with a HR for the Conquistadores.

2019 SS Cole Minato - Huntington Beach HS - The senior Gonzaga commit was 6-for-10 on the week.  1 hr, 2dbls, 6 rbi, 4 runs scored, 2 sbs, including a 2 out Game winning double against Bellarmine to break a 1-1 tie. Also played errorless defense in 4 games.

2020 RHP Memo Pacheco - La Mirada HS - The Junior pitcher threw a CG shutout to beat Lakewood. 10 ks, 1 BB, 2 hits allowed.

2019 RHP/CF Aaron Suval - Agoura HS - The senior CSUN commit was 3-for-6 with 3 doubles, 4 RBI ,2 walks, and 3 stolen bases in a double header. He had the go ahead 2B in a 5-4 victory in game 2. On the season, Suval is 3-0, 23 innings, 10 BB’s, 44 k’s, 1.51 ERA on the mound while hitting .360 with 5 2B’s, 8 RBI’s, 8 SB’s 

2019 RHP JD Callahan - West Ranch - The UCSB signee beat Hart on Wednesday tossing 5 1/3 scoreless innings to beat league rival Hart.  He allowed just 1 hit while striking out 7. 

2021 RHP Caden Aoki - Edison HS - The uncommitted sophomore was 4-for-9 with 4 walks, a double, a HR and 5 RBI. Was also 1-0, 7 ip, 7 k, 1 h, 0 r. Faced the minimum vs Mater Dei in 68 pitches. 

2019 RHP Blake Archuleta - Bishop Amat HS -  The senior had a big week for the Lancers. On Saturday he went 5 IP 2h  7k's 2bb 1w - vs. Vista Murrieta and on Friday, he went 7IP 4h 4k's 0bb 1w - vs. Cantwell Sacred Heart.

2020 RHP Preston Howey - Arcadia HS -  continued his dominance this week by going 5 scoreless innings vs Damien on Wednesday night. He only allowed 3 hits and struck out 6, while only walking 1. So far this season Howey is 3-0 with 18 scoreless innings pitched. 22 Ks to only 4 walks.

2021 LHP Kavi Patel - El Modena HS - In a win over streaking Yorba Linda, the sophomore southpaw 7 innings pitched, 8 hits, 1 earned run, 0 bb, 2 k, 77 pitches.

2019 RHP Wes Burton - Windward HS - Wes threw 5.0 no hit innings in a combined no hitter striking out 11 out of 15 batters.

SR RHP Jesse Simon - Long Beach Poly - The uncommitted senior threw a Complete Game Shutout only surrendering 3 singles, No Walks, and had 9K's Friday night at Blair Field in a 4-0 Win over Mayfair. He also hit a RBI 2B to help his own cause and stole a base. He has pitched 13 scoreless innings this season and 20 in a row dating back to last years playoff game.
