Show Series Tournament; Central Arkansas- Day One

The Show Series at University of Arkansas Little Rock, hosted by Mid America Tournaments kicked off Thursday, with 7 games at two different complexes. This tournament features over 40 teams in the 15U 16U and 17U age division.

Sticks Baseball 2019 3 vs Southern Athletic Baseball 16U 1

Sticks baseball defeated SABA 3-1 behind a strong pitching performance from 2019 RHP Zane Cox who picked up the win. Cox pitched 6 innings allowing 5 hits and one run. 2019 RHP Bradley Bearden came into close the game working an efficient 7^th inning to pick up the save.

2019 C John Hoskyn stood out offensively he had a big RBI single in the first to score 2019 MIF Jackson Huskey to gain a 2-1 lead. Hoskyn is a solid built catcher, he starts with an athletic stance, using a simple load stride, he has a strong line drive swing, that he maintains balance with through extension.

Hoskyn was the DH during the game today, but his teammate 2019 C William Poppy showed well defensively, throwing pop times of 1.91, 1.94 and 1.97 in between innings. He also threw runners out while attempting to steal. He caught a clean game with very few mistakes blocking and receiving.

Sticks Baseball will play Friday at 1:15 against Perfect Timing Blue 16U and Southern Athletics Baseball will play Arkansas Prospect 16 Clark at 11:15.

Perfect Timing Red 2 vs Prairie Grove Generals 0

2018 RHP Austin Garrett and 2018 RHP Mason Shaw combined to pitch a shutout for Perfect Timing as they defeated the Prairie Grove Generals 2-0.

Shaw pitched the final 3 innings of the contest, working his fastball 80-82 mph. Shaw has a short quick arm action. He uses simple repeatable mechanics. He struck out 2 and did not allow a hit.

Offensively PT was paced by 2018 MIF Mac McCroskey had a a pair of hits and a RBI. He also showed his base running ability stealing 2 bags. McCroskey is known as an elite defender, if he continues to show offensive production his stock will rise through the recruiting ranks.

Perfect Timing Red will play Rawlings Extreme at 11:00 AM today. Prairie Grove Generals will play417 McCullough today at 1:30.
