Shooter's Shortlist: Northeast 2025s

By Shooter Hunt

As the season inches towards summer and the recruiting trips get planned, a look into the must-see uncommitted underclassmen that PBR’s Vice President of Scouting, Shooter Hunt, is circling for college coaches to plan around.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

Brendan Horne SS / 2B / Pinkerton Academy, NH / 2025

Generating quickness in a tight window, Horne possesses some impressive bat speed that should only get better as he matures. High-waisted at 5-foot-11, 165-pounds, his athletic frame should carry much more strength in coming years which will only aid the controlled aggression that he shows from the right side.

Jet Jones C / 1B / Londonderry , NH / 2025

NEW JERSEY

Lucas Edwards SS / 2B / Bishop Eustace , NJ / 2025

Edwards’ 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame still holds significant projection which should only aid the already intriguing power potential that he features from the right side. Handsy throughout separation with a minor leg hang stride, his present ability to create quickness in a tight window provides for some exciting bat speed with a chance to drive the ball with some authority. A future corner defender, look for Edwards to garner plenty of attention in the summer.

Chase Kroberger OF / RHP / Moorestown, NJ / 2025

Coming off a preseason that showcased some exciting advancements, Kroberger’s athleticism should generate some buzz in south Jersey prior to hitting a national stage in the summer. The 6-foot, 175-pounder is a 6.64-runner with a strong arm (89 mph) that also allows him to hop on the bump reaching back for upper 80s heat. Short to the ball with a direct path, there is some strength through the zone, and should he enjoy a breakout spring, the buzz could grow louder heading into the summer.

Charlie Wingfield RHP / 1B / Ramapo, NJ / 2025

A multi-sport standout, Wingfield is just starting to fill out a physical frame that is square-shouldered at 6-foot-4, 200-pounds with more on the way. Up to 86 mph early on in the preseason after a stellar state championship run on the hardwood, the athletic right-hander should see steady velocity upticks as the weather warms up. While his quick arm and frame provide plenty to dream on, it is the feel and aptitude for a sharp breaking ball that presently stands out. Dropping it in for strikes and generating whiffs in and out of the zone, he carries plenty of intriguing upside with a swing-and-miss weapon.

Luke Wood LHP / OF / Pennsville, NJ / 2025

Wood shined as an underclass name to know at the PBR Future Games last summer, and will likely have college coaches trickling in for starts this spring. Noticeably stronger, look for the quick-armed, elastic southpaw to see his velocity creep up this spring to go along with a propensity for generating swings-and-misses.

NEW YORK

Sam Saucke SS / 2B / Greece Athena, NY / 2025

If the last name sounds familiar, it should as Casey Saucke (Virginia) is currently tearing it up for the Wahoos down at Virginia, and was a former PBR Future Games breakout star. Younger brother, Sammy, appears to be headed in a similar direction and with similar tools. The 6-foot-1, 165-pound wiry-athletic infielder brings considerable bounce to the diamond including a 6.94 60-yard dash time. Handy with the load from the right side that includes a hitchier separation of the hands, there is some explosiveness to the bat speed to go along with a compact stroke that promises even more power to come. There is some crispness to his work on the infield with solid hands that should only get better with outdoor reps throughout the spring. Given the rate at which his brother progressed (with similar tools), Saucke is likely to have college coaches watching him closely in the summer.

PENNSYLVANIA

Nolan Behm SS / RHP / Central Bucks High School East, PA / 2025

Zac Fuscaldo SS / 3B / The Haverford School, PA / 2025

Jalyn Tidwell 3B / 1B / Archbishop John Carroll, PA / 2025
