Several ranked Class of 2013 prospects have named their schools recently:

Oakton also received a commitment from Nick Zak, a 5-foot-11, 160-pound OF/RHP from Elk Grove HS. Zak, who’s ranked No. 169 in Illinois, opened eyes at the PBR Top Prospect Showcase in June when he was clocked at 90 mph from the outfield.

Aaron Meyer, who’s ranked No. 71 in Illinois’ 2013 class, has committed to John A. Logan JC. Meyer, a left-handed hitting shortstop from Belleville West HS, showed extremely well at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase in October when he ran a 6.97 60, was clocked at 84 mph from shortstop, and showed a quick, athletic swing from the left side.

Gabriel Dwyer, a catcher from Niles North HS, has committed to the University of Illinois-Chicago. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Dwyer is currently ranked No. 99 in Illinois’ 2013 class. Dwyer showed especially well at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase in October, as he showed consistent 1.91-2.00 pop times to go along with an athletic swing at the plate.

Bryce Cantrall, a 6-foot-6 RHP from Yorkville HS, has committed to Illinois Central College. Cantrall originally attended Edwardsville HS before transferring to Yorkville.
