4A Sectionals

Sectional 1

Munster 2 Highland 1 – Mike Madura got the win throwing 5.1 innings not allowing an earned run and struck out four. Madura was 1-2 with a RBI, Andrew Jumonville and Connor Manous each went 2-3 with a double and a run, and Trevor Brooks had a RBI. 

Lowell 12 East Chicago Central 7 – Justin Thomas hit a solo homerun and scored three times, Noah Hoffman homered and drove in three, John Cory hit a solo homerun, Kevin Brown was 2-3 with a RBI and two runs, and Ryan Missal was 2-5 with a run.

Chesterton 14 Valparaiso 2 

No. 8 Andrean 4 Crown Point 1 – Luke Jaksich struck out nine in a complete game win allowing one run on three hits. Justin Ruthrauff went 1-2 with two runs, Noah Davis was 1-2 with a RBI, Brad Leveque doubled and drove in a run, and Clay Thompson had a hit and a RBI.

No. 13 Carroll 15 East Noble 5 – Hayden Jones went 3-4 with three double, five RBI, and two runs, Casey McKenzie was 3-4 with a double, homerun, three RBI, and three runs, Brett Feller was 3-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and a run, Langston Ginder went 3-4 with a double and two runs, and Nathan Fish went 2-4 with a homerun, two RBI, and two runs. 

No. 14 Northrop 8 No. 20 FW Snider 5 – Ben Keating was 2-2 with two doubles, three RBI, and two runs, Garrett Schoenle was 2-3 with two doubles, three RBI, and a run, Ben Yoss was 2-3 with two RBI, and Kyler Doan was 2-3 with two runs. David Keating got the win throwing 5.2 innings allowing two earned runs and struck out seven.

No. 16 Homestead 5 FW Wayne 2 – Alex Bradtmiller threw a complete game in the win allowing one earned run, five hits, and struck out six. Nick Davit was 2-3 with a double, solo homerun, and two runs, Brady Sheehan was 2-3 with a triple and a RBI, and Joey Deeter doubled and drove in a run. 

No. 21 Huntington North 8 FW North Side 0 – Kory Goodrich threw six shutout innings allowing one hit, striking out seven. Ian McCutcheon was 2-4 with a RBI and a run, Carson Wright was 1-2 with a RBI and two runs, Grant Baumgartner was 2-3 with a RBI, and Hunter Welch was 1-3 with a RBI and a run.

McCutcheon 6 Lafayette Harrison 0 – Clay Giroux threw a three hit shutout to get the win, striking out three. Kobe McNeeley went 2-2 with three RBI, Peyton Williams doubled twice, Jackson Smeltz was 3-3 with a run, Josh Maddox had two RBI, and Evan Allen was 1-2 with a RBI and a run. 

No. 1 Zionsville 10 Logansport 0 – RJ Wagner allowed just one hit in five shutout innings, striking out five. Jacob Hurtubise was 3-3 with a triple and two RBI, Chard Garisek was 2-3 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Nick Prather doubled twice and scored, and Jacob Hurd was 1-1 with a double, two RBI, and a run.

No. 19 Richmond 9 Muncie Central 7 – Jordan Christian homered and drove in two, Parker Hollan was 3-4 with a double, RBI, and a run, Thomas Stanley was 3-4 with a triple, RBI, and a run, John Cheatwood was 2-4 with three RBI, Austin Turner was 2-4 with a RBI and a run, and Issak Snyder was 2-5 with a triple and two runs.

Roncalli 6 Ben Davis 0 – Cody Smith struck out 13 in a complete game shutout win allowing three hits. Tyler Lucas doubled twice and drove in two runs, Dylan Williams was 2-4 with two RBi and a run, and Nick Schnell was 2-3 with a double, RBI, and a run.

Bloomington South 10 Columbus North 1 – Nick Wright went 4-4 with two doubles, a homerun, and three RBI, Tyler Van Pelt was 2-4 with a solo homerun and two runs scored, Isaiah Shake was 2-4 with a RBI and two runs, Devin Buctman was 2-4 with two RBI, Tucker Blackwell was 1-3 with two RBI and a run, and Luke Barrow went 3-4 with three runs. Alex Franklin threw a complete game allowing four hits, no earned runs, and struck out four. 

No. 15 Columbus East 7 East Central 4 – Kyle Weiss and Taki Yamada each went 1-3 with two RBI, Harry Crider hit a solo homerun and scored twice, Drew Hasson was 2-2 with a run, and Charlie Burton was 1-2 with a RBI and a run. Jon Crawford threw five innings to get the win allowing two runs, two hits, and struck out four.

No. 6 Jeffersonville 3 Floyd Central 2 – Gabe Bierman got the win throwing 6.1 innings allowing two runs on five hits, striking out eight. Luke Campbell went 2-3 with two runs, Falkenstein had a RBI, and Minton was 1-3 with a run scored. 

No. 12 New Albany 5 Bedford North Lawrence 0 – Austin Dickey threw a four hit shutout to get the win, striking out six.

Evansville Harrison 5 Evansville North 3 – Griffin Quarles threw a complete game allowing two runs on seven hits, striking out eight. Aaron Beck went 1-2 with two RBI and a run, Quarles tripled and scored, and Devin McHugh was 1-2 with a RBI. 

Evansville Central 5 Castle 2 – Jordan Cozart threw a complete game in the win allowing two runs on seven hits, striking out seven. Luke Kuester was 2-3 with two RBI, Cozart was 2-4 with a double and a run, Evan Kahre was 1-3 with a RBI, and Jamir Simpson was 2-4 with a double and two runs.

Hammond Clark 12 Calumet 0 

Griffith 6 Hammond Gavit 2 – Troy Cullen threw a complete game allowing two runs on four hits, striking out five. Kody Hoese went 2-3 with two doubles, three RBI, and a run, Denny Colomes was 1-2 with a RBI and a run, Alec Seberger was 2-3 with a run, and Amir Wright had a double, RBI, and two runs.

Mishawaka Marian 6 SB St. Joseph 4 – Kyle Hall went 3-4 with a RBI and two runs, Riley Tirotta homered, drove in two, and scored twice, and Nate Thomas had a hit and two RBI. Thomas got the win throwing a complete game allowing four runs on seven hits, striking out seven.

Fairfield 7 Lakeland 1 – Isaac Miller went 4-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Josh Troxel doubled and drove in two runs, and Christian Wright doubled and scored. Jordan Geyer got the win throwing five shutout innings allowing four hits, striking out six.

Angola 6 New Haven 5 – Jake Horner was 2-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and two runs, Eric Clifton was 1-3 with a RBI, and Jake Roddy was 1-3 with a double and a RBI. Chance Roddy threw 5.2 innings to get the win allowing two earned runs, six hits, and struck out three. 

Bishop Dwenger 15 Garrett 0 – Noah Freimuth went 3-3 with a double, three RBI, and two runs, Louis Garrett was 2-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and a run, Blake Podschine was 2-3 with a RBI and a run, and Jack Harris was 1-1 with two RBI and two runs. Andrew Rolfsen struck out seven in three innings.

Bellmont 17 Mississinewa 0 – Mason Shinaberry struck out seven in three shutout innings allowing two hits. Drew Dobbles was 3-3 with a double, two RBI, and a run, Justin Jaurgui had a double, three RBI, and a run, Austin O’Campo had a hit, two RBI, and two runs, and Austin Knous had a triple, RBI, and two runs. 

No. 3 Norwell 4 Heritage 2 – Quinton Middleton threw 5.1 innings allowing one earned run, three hits, and struck out seven. Ryan Tomlin got the win throwing 1.2 shutout innings, striking out two. Levi Long went 1-2 with a triple, two RBI, and a run and Brody Myers was 2-3 with two runs.

Jay County 4 Guerin Catholic 2 – Geesaman went 2-4 with two doubles, one RBI, and two runs, Koler was 1-3 with a RBI, Vaughn doubled and drove in a run, and Schlechty was 2-3 with a double. Chandler Jacks got the win throwing a complete game allowing two runs, striking out two. 

Delta 1 Hamilton Heights 0 – Arian Coffey got the win throwing a three hit shutout, striking out five. Adisyn Coffey went 1-3 with a RBI and Brady Pease scored the lone run.

No. 5 Brebeuf 9 No. 7 New Palestine 5 – Jett McGowan went 3-3 with two homeruns, four RBI, and three runs, Michael Hogan homered and drove in three runs, and Justin Hensley was 1-3 with a RBI and a run. John Nierman got the win throwing 5.2 innings allowing six hits, striking out two.

Batesville 8 Franklin County 7 – Jacob Christian went 3-4 with a double and four RBI, Zach Britton was 2-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Zach Blomer was 2-3 with a double and a RBI, Jacob Wilson was 2-4 with a run, and Trey Heidlage was 2-4 with two runs. 

South Dearborn 10 Lawrenceburg 8 

Greensburg 4 Connersville 0 – Chancey Holdsworth went 3-4 with a double and two RBI, Treyton Lubker was 1-3 with a RBI and a run, and Austin Kane had a hit and a RBI. Kane threw a complete game shutout to get the win allowing four hits, striking out five. 

Batesville 5 South Dearborn 2 – Leo Enneking got the win throwing 3.2 shutout innings allowing two hits, striking out three. Jacob Wilson went 2-4 with four RBI, Zach Britton was 1-3 with a double, RBI, and two runs, and Quinn Werner was 1-2 with a double and two runs.

Corydon Central 6 Charlestown 2 – Gabe Fleece got the win throwing 6.2 innings allowing two runs on six hits, striking out five. Joseph Mattingly was 2-4 with two RBI and a run, Clayton Shreck had a RBI and a run, and Dylan Summers was 1-3 with a RBI. 

No. 2 Silver Creek 8 North Harrison 1 – Sammy Barnett got the win throwing four shutout innings allowing one hit, striking out nine. Brian Campbell was 2-3 with a RBI and a run, Tyler Kapust was 1-2 with three RBI, Barnett was 2-4 with a double and two RBI, and Bryson McNay was 2-3 with a double and a RBI.

Westview 12 Prairie Heights 6 – Chase Anderson went 1-2 with a homerun and two RBI, Zach Schrock was 2-4 with two doubles, a RBI, and two runs, Houston Haney was 1-3 with a RBI and a run, and Derrike Johns doubled and scored three times. Jeryl Weaver picked up the win in relief throwing 2.2 innings.

FW Canterbury 2 Bluffton 1 – Ben Axel threw a complete game allowing six hits, no earned runs, and struck out eight. Ethan Mitch had a hit and a RBI, Jack Wojewuczki doubled and scored once, and Khem Thomas was 1-2 with a run scored.

No. 9 Oak Hill 1 Wabash 0 – Tyler Fairchild threw a complete game shutout allowing four hits, striking out six. Spencer Ballinger doubled and drove in a run, Christian Livingston was 2-3, and Ryne Emery scored the lone run.

Taylor 9 Elwood 6 – Cole Schroeder went 4-4 with three RBI and a run, Cole Braun was 2-2 with a triple and four RBI, and Peyton Tracy was 3-3 with a double and a RBI.

Eastern Hancock 26 Irvington Prep 0 – Devin Denny had a big game going 6-7 with a grand slam, six RBI, and two runs. Addison True was 5-5 with a double, homerun, five RBI, and four runs, AJ Muegge was 4-7 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Clayton White was 1-2 with a homerun, four RBI, and two runs, and Tom Barton was 2-3 with a RBI and three runs. Andrew Knoblock (two innings, six strikeouts) and Easton Fields (three innings, four strikeouts) combined for a five inning no hitter. 

Heritage Christian 11 Indy Howe 0 – Dakota Muth went 2-2 with two RBi and a run, Quinn Cobb was 1-1 with two RBI and two runs, Joey Butz was 1-1 with a RBI and two runs, and Aaron Rector was 1-2 with two RBI and a run.

North White 13 Caston 6 – Luke Diener went 3-5 with a double, four RBI, and two runs, Cameron Ruemler was 2-2 with three RBI and a run, Jake Quasebarth was 2-4 with a double and three runs, Colton Cooley went 2-3 with two runs, and Clint Hendress had a double, RBI, and two runs.

Fremont 13 Elkhart Christian 0 – Rhett Evans went 3-3 with a triple, two RBI, and two runs, Dylan Peppler was 2-3 with a triple, two RBI, and two runs, and Evan Trusty homered, drove in three runs, and scored twice. Jordan Rode was 2-3 with a RBI and a run and Nate Midtgard was 1-2 with two RBI and a run. Hunter Jordan threw four shutout innings allowing one hit, striking out four. 

Lakewood Park 11 Bethany Christian 1 – Tysen Hunt went 3-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs, Harrison Roberts went 1-3 with a RBI and a run, and Isaac Schlotterback was 1-3 with a RBI and a run. Andrew Carpenter got the win throwing four innings allowing one unearned run, two hits, and struck out five.

Rossville 12 Faith Christian 4 – Payton Dennison was 3-5 with three RBI and two runs, Corbin Beard was 3-3 with a RBI and three runs, and Matthew Homco hit a solo homerun. Christian Howard got the win throwing five innings allowing two earned runs, four hits, and struck out eight.

Hagerstown 13 Cambridge City 5 – Trey Kelley went 3-4 with a double, homerun, and four RBI, Dylan Woolard was 4-5 with a double and four RBI, Trent Weiss was 2-4 with three runs, and Owen Golliher was 1-2 with a RBI and two runs. Kelley struck out 10 in a complete game win allowing two earned runs and seven hits.

Borden 10 South Central 0 – Travis Konerman was 2-4 with three RBI, Caleb Hart was 3-4 with three RBI and two runs, Lucas McNew went 3-3 with a double and two runs, and Noah Franklin was 1-3 with two RBI and a run. Hart got the win throwing six shutout innings allowing three hits, striking out seven.
