Altamonte Springs, FL - Last Tuesday The Top Prospect Games showcase was held at Lake Brantley High School and it brought out some very good talent from all over the state of Florida. From the Miami area all the way up into the Panhandle. Participants in the showcase were made up of uncommitted 2016 and 2017 players. Judging by the talent level we saw at the showcase, these players won't be uncommitted for long.

Today we take a look at some of the top pitching performances from the showcase:

RHP Todd Casey 2017 Lake Brantley HS – Uncommitted rising junior. 6-foot-5, 200 pound right hander with a tall lean athletic projectable body with long loose arms and big hands and a wide back. Has a loose easy working arm at a high ¾ slot. Good arm arc in back. Good rhythm. Stays over the rubber. Lands across the body with a bit of a crossfire delivery.  Tough angle against right handed hitters. Ball jumps out of his hand. Fast ball was 85-87 mph. Slider was a short slurve at 78-79 mph. Occasionally gets around it. Has feel for change up at 80-81 mph but occasionally slows down to throw it. Very young arm with a lot of upside. Velocity will improve with reps.

RHP William Sanchez 2016 Keys Gate Charter HS – Uncommitted rising senior. 6-foot, 180 pound right hander with an athletic medium sized body. Has a loose easy working projectable arm at a high ¾ slot and a fluid delivery. Is a bit deep in back but takes ball out in line and lands in line. Occasionally drifts and leaves arm behind. When he gets out front his fast ball has some down tilt with good life at 84-86 mph. Curve ball is a big loopy breaker with tight ¾ rotation at 65-68 mph. Has feel for change up at 67-68 mph with good arm speed. Inconsistent release point out front. Needs to stay over rubber longer to get gathered and deliver ball to catcher to get release out front. Stuff is good when he works out front. Velocity will increase with physical maturity.

RHP Justin Carrillo 2016 Everglades HS – Uncommitted rising senior. 5-foot-11, 165 pound right hander with an athletic strong body on a medium sized frame. Has a quick arm with some effort in delivery at an over hand slot. Ball jumps out of his hand. Hides ball in back. Fast ball is 85-86 mph and has good tilt for a guy his size. Curve ball is above average at 77-78 mph. It’s a tight downer with depth. He had the best breaking ball in the showcase. Has feel for the change up at 75-76 mph. Appears to have a tumbling action to it, much like a split finger fast ball. Is an aggressive guy that attacks the zone. Will be a good college arm.

LHP Bryce Hulett 2017 Lake Wales HS – Uncommitted rising junior. 6-foot-2, 166 pound lefty with a loose athletic projectable body with. A very good athlete who also looked good at 1B with a pretty left handed swing. Loose easy working arm at a high ¾ slot. Big arm circle in back with good rhythm. Takes it back in line and lands in line to home. Occasionally pulls off line and ball gets away from him. Needs to keep head on target to stay in line consistently. Fast ball has deception at 84-85 mph with tailing action. The fast ball comes out of his shirt when he stays in line. The curve ball is a bit inconsistent but occasionally has ¾ as well as a downward rotation at 70-71 mph. Drops slot to throw the change up but has good arm speed with same tailing action as fast ball at 78-79 mph. Stuff is good when he stays in line and through everything, finishing out front.

RHP Will West 2016 Niceville HS – Uncommitted rising senior. 6-foot-3, 175 pound right hander with a tall loose lean athletic projectable body with a wide back. Great pitchers body. Has a loose quick arm with an over hand slot. Has a high front side with good down tilt to his fast ball at 85-88 mph. Ball jumps out of his hand. Fast ball is straight but has some deception. Is sneaky and tough to pick up. Slider is above average and is a short tight downer with depth at 74-76 mph. Has feel for the change up at 77-78 mph. Deep in back. Has a short stride and lands slightly across the body. Stuff will continue to improve with velocity. Velocity will continue to improve with physical maturity.
