Rolesville Shutsout Knightdale Behind Allen
Behind the strong outing of RHP Cameron Allen (2017), Rolesville shut out Knightdale 9-0 in a Greater Neuse River conference matchup Friday afternoon. Cameron threw 7 innings, gave up 3 hits, struck out 8, walked 3, and allowed no runs.
Rolesville’s right fielder Jordan Payne (2017) had a big day at the plate. He was 4 for 4 with 2 singles, a double, and a triple. He also had 4 RBI’s and a stolen base. Catcher James Bullock (2017) was 2 for 3 with a single and a double.
Knightdale’s starting RHP Austin Vernon (2017 NC Central commit) threw 4 innings. He gave up 3 hits, struck out 6, walked 2 and allowed 6 runs. Knightdale relief pitchers Charles Woodlief (2017) and Dustin Thrower (2018) gave up an additional 3 runs.
Knightdale had 3 hits over 7 innings with Woodlief (1B, 2017), Thrower (OF, 2018), & catcher Logan Bedlow (2019) getting 1 hit each.

Charlotte Catholic Posts Signature Victory Over Ardrey Kell
Coming into the game undeafeted in conference play at 6-0, Charlotte Catholic faced perennial SW4A power Ardrey Kell. A classic pitcher's dual turned into an exciting finish in extra innings for the home team Cougars in a 3-2 walk off win.
Catholic pitcher 2017 Aaron Mitchell pitched 8 solid innings for the victory. With one out in the bottom of the 8th, Catholic coaxed three walks from Kell relievers, while down 2-1. With the bases full, Nick Borda (2017) lined a single to left center field, driving in two runs, giving Catholic the walk off win.
In the loss, Ardrey Kell starter, Trey Tujetsch (RHP/OF, 2019) was dynamic. Tujetsch worked 7.1 innings, striking out 9 and only giving up one run, coming off an error in the first.
