7A West

Fayetteville defeated Van Buren 10-0 on Monday clinching the 7A West Championship with 11 wins, eliminating any chance of a dreaded tie breaker with Bentonville or Har-Ber

Bentonville took care of business against Bentonville West sweeping them in a double header and clinching the a first round bye in the state tournament with a conference record of 10-4

Van Buren bounced back off a tough loss on Monday and defeated Fayetteville 7-5, to push their conference record to 9-5, as of now that will land them as the No. 4 seed in the state tournament.

However this is not a certainty with Har-ber having a game remaining on the schedule, a Har-ber loss will create a tie between Har-ber and Van Buren. They split the two game series earlier in the season. Van Buren is a head on margin of victory, so I believe they would move to the No. 3 seed.

Rogers swept Springdale in this week’s series, to lock down the 5 seed in the state tournament, and Springdale will represent the 7A West as the 6 seed.

Heritage and Bentonville West have been eliminated from the race to the state tournament.

7A Central

Cabot defeated in Northside 8-2 Tuesday night, coupled with a 4-0 loss by North Little Rock to Bryant, allowed Cabot to clinch the 7A Central before their big showdown with North Little Rock.

The loss for North Little Rock doesn’t mean Friday’s game vs Cabot is meaningless. They are now tied with Bryant both have a record 10-3 in conference play. Bryant plays Conway. They split the season series with North Little Rock defeating Bryant 9-3 earlier in the season.

Conway fell to Catholic 3-2 and now has solidified the 4 seed. Catholic has won three straight games and will be the 5 seed. A tough draw for anyone, due to the depth of their pitching staff.

The 6 seed will come down to Friday, night’s battle of Rogers Avenue. Northside is 3-10 in conference play and Southside is 2-11. If Southside pulls off a win they will then be tied for 6^th and would have split the season series.

Friday will be an exciting night in the 7A Central.
