Trinity Catholic was able to squeeze past Trinity Prep 1-0 on Tuesday night to advance to their district championship game. 2016 RHP Brandon Reitz (Florida State commit) was able to go the distance for the Celtics and throw a complete game shutout.
This contest was obviously dominated pitching from both teams as not only Reitz had a great night, but 2016 Florida State commit Jared Herron, who is normally a catcher, threw the entire game for Trinity Prep. Reitz and Herron combined for an impressive 17 strikeouts in the game.
The lone run for the Celtics came in the bottom of the fourth when Reitz helped himself out and led off the inning with a single up the middle. After he was moved into scoring position on a hit and run by 2019 OF/LHP Jud Fabian and a single by 2017 OF Rafael Libunao, 2016 LHP/1B Thomas Spinelli (Mississippi commit) roped a single through the right side to bring home the only run of the game.
Reitz seemed to only get stronger as the game went, striking out two in the last inning and still sitting at 90 mph on the radar gun.
