Three teams will battle it out in the Region XX DI Baseball Tournament starting on Sunday, May 8th at Harford Community College. Harford Community College is hosting this year, receiving the No. 1 seed with a record of 42-6. WVU Potomac State College comes in as the No. 2 seed with a record of 33-11 and Hagerstown Community College receives the No. 3 seed with a record of 35-17.
Schedule
Sunday, May 8th
Game 1: #2 WVU Potomac State vs. #3 Hagerstown (12:00 pm)
Game 2: #1 Harford vs. Loser of Game 1 (3:00 pm)
Monday, May 9th
Game 3: #1 Harford vs. Winner of Game 1 (12:00 pm)
Game 4: If three teams remain, then Seeds #2 vs. #3, if two teams remain, the Championship Game (3:00 pm)
Tuesday, May 10th
Game 5: Championship Game if Necessary (12:00 pm)
2021 Recap
Last year, we saw the 2021 Region XX Tournament played at Hagerstown Municipal Stadium between Hagerstown Community College, Harford Community College, WVU Potomac State College and Monroe College (NY).
On Friday, Monroe College defeated Hagerstown Community College 16-3 and Harford Community College defeated WVU Potomac State College 12-7. On Saturday, WVU Potomac State College defeated Hagerstown Community College 14-9, knocking Hagerstown CC out, leaving three teams left vying for the Championship. Monroe College then defeated Harford Community College 4-1, leading to a matchup between Harford CC and WVU Potomac State College on Saturday night. Harford CC would go on to win a thriller over WVU Potomac State College by a score of 13-10, setting up a matchup with Monroe College on Sunday morning. Monroe College rolled to a 15-8 victory over the Fighting Owls, clinching the Region XX Tournament Championship, advancing them to face off with Florence-Darlington Technical College in the East District Championship.
