Chris Maranto, an athletic middle infielder from Mundelein HS, has committed to Butler University. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Maranto served as the offensive catalyst during the Mustangs’ incredible run last spring, when they won their first 20 games and climbed to the No. 1 team in the state. Offensively, Maranto batted .424 with 5 home runs, 36 RBI and swiped 15 bases. He also anchored the infield at shortstop, showing quick, reliable hands and athletic feet. At the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase in October, Maranto ran a 6.9 60.
Kegan Robbins, a middle infielder from DuQuoin HS, has committed to McKendree University. The 5-foot-7 Robbins hit .353 last season while helping lead the Indians to a third-place finish in Class 2A.
Nathan Prindle, a SS from Glenwood HS, has committed to Lindenwood University.
