Recapping the Fall Prospect Program at Wright State University

Week two of Ohio’s Fall Prospect Program was hosted at Wright State’s Nischwitz Stadium. Three matchup's took place, as Team 1 vs. Team 4, Team 2 vs. Team 3, and Team 5 vs. Team 6 squared off. We saw different guys stand out, while others kept their hot streak going. Next Sunday will bring the Fall Prospect Program to Ohio Wesleyan University.
Below are top performers, and pitcher velocities for each team:
Top Performers Team 1:
Infielder Jacob Shubert (Cambridge, 2014) shows a short compact swing from the right side, and laced a line drive up the middle in Game 1.
Right-handed hitter Daniel Nyquist (Lebanon, 2014) carried over a strong performance from last week, adding another two hits in Game 1. Both of Nyquist’s hits were to left field one being a single, the other being a two RBI double.
2nd baseman and outfielder Thaddeus Ferguson (Mars Hill Academy, 2014) had a strong day at the dish going 2 for 3. Both singles were driven to right field.
John Kunakowsky (Brecksville Broadview Heights, 2014), and Mike Sheplavy (Brecksville Broadview Heights, 2014) both went 1 for 3 on the day with a single.

Top Performers Team 4:
Grove City’s Evan Skinner (2015) went 2 for 4 in Game 1. The outfielder stroked two RBI singles.
Ben Beachy (Springboro, 2015), and Zach Santoro (Clinton Massie, 2015) both featured an impressive swing in yesterday’s game singling twice.
Also adding hard hit singles to their performance was Michael Warden (Wayne, 2015), and Anthony Crow (Fenwick, 2015).
Left-handed pitcher Austin Franz (New Albany, 2014) worked a strong scoreless inning. Franz sat 77-78 topping out at 82 mph. The southpaw punched out 3 of 5 hitters on the day.

Top Performers Team 2:
Outfielder Sam Montgomery (Bishop Hartley, 2014) led Team 2 in hitting yesterday going 3 for 3. The right-handed hitter features a smooth load with good bat speed. Montgomery shows great actions on the base paths, and is always looking to take an extra base.
Robert Engle (Newark Catholic, 2015) showed off his potential power at the plate as he drove a double down the right field line.
Right-handed pitcher Matt Bogan (Mechanicsburg, 2014) started Game 2, and set down all 10 hitters he faced. Out of those 10, 4 were strikeouts.
David Van Hove (Ashland, 2015) and Nate Rau (Bryan, 2015) added multiple singles in Game 2.

Top Performers Team 3:
The left-handed bat of Collin Floyd (Akron Springfield, 2015) poked a single to right field. On the mound, the left-handed pitcher sat 81-83 mph with short arm action.
Racco DiLauro (Akron Springfield, 2015) put together a couple good at bats in yesterday’s game. DiLauro showed off his strong arm as he had one of the top arm velos in the infield at 81 mph.
Joshua Meszaros, Spencer Bycynski, and Jason Large all had well hit singles for Team 3.

Top Performers Team 5:
2018 grad Jaret Montenery had an outstanding day at the plate going 4 for 5. The switch hitter more then held his own at Wright State, and it will be interesting to see how he progresses.
Connor Stykemain (Defiance, 2016) has a small athletic build, and shows a smooth swing at the plate. Stykemain roped a line drive to right center in his first at bat.
Matt Wilch (River Valley, 2015), and Billy Cooper (Jackson, 2017) both stroked doubles to left field.

Middle infielder Jared Mitchell (Lebanon, 2014) put together a couple nice at bats in Game 3, going 2 for 4.
Sam Grodhaus (Dublin Jerome, 2016) and Thomas Fleser (Big Walnut, 2016) led Team 6 in hitting, both going 2 for 3.
Outfielder Carson Glover (Saint Charles, 2016) showed good actions in the outfield, and paired that with an outfield velo of 76-77 mph. Glover also added a single to left field.
Zackery Arnold, Mitch Kelley, Chase Beam, Jordan Seich, and Cameron Justice all added hard hit singles to their performance.
