Joel Ouelette RHP / N/A, QC / 2022Report: Easily the one of the best uncommitted arms in Quebec right now is Joel Ouelette. As a 2023 who’s 6-2, 200-pounds, the body is somewhat soft, but he carries himself well on the mound. He was living mid 80s in the first, up to 87, and it was a drop in the second down to low 80s. The stamina isn’t there yet, but he’s young, and he has a chance to bloom into a pretty decent pitcher down the road.

Elliot Cadieux Lanoue LHP / C / Fadette, QC / 2024Report: He won’t catch your eye coming off the bus, but at 5-10, 160-pounds, Cadieux-Lanoue has feel for pitching when you watch it live. The arm is clean, he’s repeatable with his mechanics, and he attacked some of the better hitters at the Rising Stars Combine. He collapses on his front side right now, but he’s still up to 83, living low 80s with some depth to his breaking ball at 63-67. The changeup comes out from the same slot in the mid 70s. The worst thing that could happen for Cadieux-Lanoue is he’s a 5-10 lefty with clean mechanics who pounds the zone with a low 80s fastball, or he could get better, so it’s a good gamble.

Antoine Guenette RHP / OF / Felix-Leclerc , QC / 2023Report: At 6-1, 180-pounds, Antoine Guenette was one of the better arms at the Rising Stars event in Montreal. The 2023 grad was clean, up to 84, and was able to repeat his arm action. The ball comes out of his hand easy, he spins it at 66-69. There’s some violence to him, and over time if he puts on some size and strength he could be alright by the summer. Very physical for his age.

Jacob Beaudoin LHP / 1B / Academie Les Estacades, QC / 2023Report: A long, lean lefty, Jacob Beaudoin is another player to keep an eye on. He has the chance to be on both sides of the ball for a while, but as an arm there’s some upside. He’s 6-4, 185-pounds, doesn’t use his lower half a lot, but the arm is long and quick from a low ¾ slot. It’s effortless, and it’s 80-83 from the left side up to 84.
