Brett Adcock, LHP, Bay City Western, 2013

Adcock is a good looking left handed prospect from Bay City Western.  Adcock has good upside and has been up to 89 mph this summer and has drawn interest from major league scouts.  Adcock has a chance to be a pick in next year's MLB Draft if he continues to progress.  

PBR:  Where have you decided to attend college and why did you make this choice?
Adcock: I have decided to attend at U of M. I made this choice because its been a dream of mine since I was in first grade that I wanted to play baseball for the University of Michigan. Also the academic excellence that U of M has to offer.

PBR:  What other schools were you considering?
Adcock: I was also considering MSU and CMU.

PBR:  Was distance from home a factor in your decision?
Adcock: Yes, I wanted to make sure my family and close friends were able to come out and watch if they wanted to so Ann Arbor wasn’t that far of a drive.

PBR:  The coaches at Michigan are new. How has it been meeting the new staff? Have they seen you play yet?
Adcock: Meeting the new staff has been my first priority. You have to understand their aspects and see how they plan to coach for years to come. The new coaches have seen me play in East Cobb, GA and in Cincinnati, OH. 

PBR:  What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus? 
Adcock: They expect me to pitch, but I do not know what role I will have to take on.

PBR:  What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help your team?
Adcock: Good energy, I am always trying to keep teammates up and keep a positive attitude no matter what happens.

PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most memorable experience from this past summer?
Adcock: I played with the Midwest Elite this past summer. The most memorable experience from last summer was being able to travel to many places like GA, VA and NE. Another memorable moment was being selected to pitch in the Triple Crown All Star game in VA.

PBR:  Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team going into your senior season?
Adcock: The most important goal is to reach our maximum potential by winning many games. I am working to get All State honors and be selected to the East vs. West All Star Game, but that’s not the most important goals I think about. I know not only me, but the team thinks we have a shot at making a run at the state championship. We need to be focused to thrive for our goal that our senior players have been working on the past 3 years.
