College Commitment Q&A
Why did you choose Kansas State?
I chose K-State because of the coaching staff they have, their facilities, and the opportunity to play in the Big 12.
What other schools were you considering?
Creighton
Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
I first went to a camp there the fall of my sophomore year. But the relationship really started building during fall Ball and the winter.
Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
A little bit yes. It's nice that all I have to do now is focus on getting myself ready for the next level, and helping my team win.
Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
It fit basically everything I was looking for in a college, but the opportunity to both hit and pitch sealed the deal for me.
Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
Definitely my parents. They have given me all the opportunities to play and take extra lessons to help me develop my game.
What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
I thought it was going to be very difficult, but the coaches I talked to made the process easier. Overall I enjoyed the experience.
We noticed you played for the Nebraska Prospect in the fall, what has that experience been like?
I really liked playing for the prospects this past fall. It was fun playing with some of the best players in Omaha and Lincoln.
What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
To compete for playing time right away.
What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
I'd have to say catching the final out of this years state title on our home field.
Who is the best player that you have competed against?
Cole Stobbe
