Lawrence North's Justin Reed committed to Indiana University and Head Coach Chris Lemonis last week, becoming the fourth player from this year's Future Games Team Indiana to commit to the Hoosiers.  

The 2016 RHP stands in at 6-foot, 175 pounds.  He possesses a quick, loose arm with a fastball that sat at 87 throughout his two innings of work at the Future Games.  He shows good feel for his off speed pitches, getting good movement with the ability to command the zone.  

PBR: Ultimately, why did you choose I.U.?

Reed: I choose IU because it's close to home and they have one of the top business schools in the nation, along with the recent success they have had in baseball.

PBR: When did you take your first visit down to Bloomington?

Reed: My first visit to IU was August 21st.

PBR: Where did IU first see you compete?

Reed: Well, Coach Lemonis saw me compete when he was a coach at Louisville and when he came to IU he still had me on his list, but the first time I saw IU was Westfield at the beginning of the summer. 

PBR: What do the coaches expect from you when you first arrive on campus?

Reed: To do good in the class room and compete.

PBR: Were there any other schools you were considering?

Reed: I really didn't have a list of schools.

PBR: You played for Team Indiana at this year's Future Games, describe your experience participating in that event.

Reed: Those games were unreal! The atmosphere was amazing and the amount of scouts was crazy.

PBR: Overall, how has PBR impacted your recruiting process?

Reed: After my first PBR event I saw everything change. It has helped a lot and I really appreciate what they do!

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter you've faced within the state of Indiana?

Reed: I didn't really have a toughest hitter. I always go up there with the mindset that I can get that batter out. 

PBR: Now that you've committed, what are your goals going forward as a HS player?

Reed: There is always room to improve. 

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Reed: The biggest impact person on my baseball career has to be Jon Richardson from Pony Express.
