PBR: Why did you choose King?

Donathan: I have always wanted to play baseball in the south. King has a winning program, great academics and a smaller sized campus – everything I was looking for.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Donathan: University of Tampa, Belmont Abbey, Saint Leo’s University

PBR: Where did the King coaches first see you?  How did your relationship develop with them?

Donathan: They first saw me at Prasco Park, then my summer coach Jordan Kopp has been in contact with them and sent them video. The coaches and I talked and texted quite a bit and then when I went for a visit and actually met the coaching staff, it was a very easy decision for me.

 PBR:  Was distance from home a factor in your decision?

Donathan: King is only 6 hours away so it’s the best of both worlds for me – It’s a warm climate, but still close enough that my family can easily make it down for game.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Donathan: Coach Brown expects me to compete for playing time and as a catcher, be a leader as a freshman.

PBR: You have participated in numerous PBR events.  How has PBR helped you with the recruiting process?

Donathan: Along with the honest evaluations of me as a player, PBR has kept me in baseball shape even in the off season and given me a huge connection to numerous colleges and coaches

 PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable experience?

Donathan: I have always played for Raptors Elite and my most memorable experience was going out to the Slumpbuster Tournament in Omaha during the College World Series.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Donathan:  There have been so many people that have influenced my baseball career from my Dad coaching the Raptors for many years, to Ted Mills for hitting and Brian Mannino for catching and countless others who have taught me what it takes mentally to succeed.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Tippecanoe?

Donathan:   2^nd on the team in doubles and 2^nd in homeruns. Batted .321 with an OB% of .480 and an OPS of .995. Fielding % of .981

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?

Donathan: Virginia Tech recruit, Andrew McDonald in the championship bracket of the Midwest Classic – although I did hit a HR off of him.
