Q and A with 2013 Sinclair Commit: Keenan Carter (Edgewood HS)

Keenan Carter, C, Edgewood HS, Class of 2013

PBR: Why did you choose Sinclair?

Carter Finances played a big role and the fact that they are well coached and very competitive.  I really like Coach Dintaman and Coach Castle.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Carter:  Miami and Marietta were and still are strong considerations. I have talked with a lot of schools at all levels.

PBR: Sinclair is known for sending many of their players to 4 year colleges.  How much of a role did that play in your decision to go to Sinclair?

Carter: That played a huge role. I intend to finish my degree and further my baseball career.

PBR: Where did the Coach Dintaman first see you?

Carter: I believe it was at the Top Prospects Showcase at Prasco. That is the most scouts I have seen and I really got a lot of interest from playing in it.

PBR: Sinclair is a national JUCO power.  How does it feel to know that you will be playing for a national contender the next 2 years?

Carter: Great. I am looking forward to the challenge and want to be part of winning a Championship.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?

Carter:  Catcher and power hitter. I like to train hard and plan to be ready for some tough competition.

PBR:  What team do you play for in the summer?

Carter:  Dayton Classics. They have a very good program. Greg Beamer and Phil Wilcher are great. And the coaches are too.

PBR: What was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Carter:  Playing in the Bob Ross Classic at The Dragons field was great fun.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Edgewood?

Carter: Bat avg.428 Led league in home runs (5). Team MVP. 1st team All Conference catcher. I was very fortunate to have had a very good year.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?

Carter: Probably Jake Galloway from Harrison. They were really good last year.
