Q and A with 2013 Sinclair CC Commit: Jordan Huggins (Springfield Shawnee HS)
February 22, 2013
Jordan Huggins, OF, Springfield Shawnee HS, Class of 2013
PBR: Why did you choose Sinclair?
Huggins: I chose Sinclair because I really liked the coaching staff and I thought that it would be the best opportunity for me to play and that after 2 years I could go on and play at a 4 year school.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Huggins: Tiffin, Thiel, Baldwin Wallace, Mount Union
PBR: Sinclair is known for sending many of their players to 4 year colleges. How much of a role did that play in your decision to go to Sinclair?
Huggins: It had a huge impact on my decision.
PBR: Where did the Coach Dintaman first see you?
Huggins: He saw me first at a tournament in Troy last summer.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Huggins: They expect me to get stronger and compete for a starting spot.
PBR: What team do you play for in the summer?
Huggins: Dayton Classics.
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?
Huggins: I figured that I wasn't big or strong enough to go D1 so I was mainly thinking about D2, D3, or JUCO and I think Sinclair is the best fit for me.
PBR: Now that you have your college decision out of the way, what are your individual and team goals going into the spring?
Huggins: One individual goal is to go all state and for a team goal it would have to be to win the league.
PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Springfield Shawnee?
Huggins: I batted .380 and led the team in stolen bases.
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?
Huggins: It would have to be Cory Wilder or Carter Langdon. They both know how to mix up their pitches and keep you guessing.
