February 24, 2013
Alex Stonerock, RHP, Westfall HS, Class of 2013
PBR: Why did you choose Lake Erie?
Stonerock: I chose Lake Erie because they had my major as well as a chance to play my freshman year. Along with the potential to play, I valued their coaching staff and their successful program.
PBR: Where did Lake Erie first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?
Stonerock: Lake Erie first saw me play at a tournament in Cincinnati. The coaching staff and I bonded very quickly. We were on the same page whether it was from baseball to life.
PBR: Lake Erie seems to be a program on the rise, especially with this current recruiting class. How did that impact your decision to go up north?
Stonerock: The decision that impacted me the most was the chance to play as a freshman and try to help the team throughout the season and make an impact.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Stonerock: The coaches expect me to come in and show my abilities, work hard, and compete to the highest level possible.
PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Lake Erie?
Stonerock: My biggest strength is that I am able to keep my composure as well as do whatever I can to help our team get a win. I feel that I can help Lake Erie with my work ethic, determination, and attitude.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Stonerock: I play for the Columbus Cobras. The most memorable experience is having fun with my teammates and winning as many games as possible.
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?
Stonerock: Ohio is filled with tough pitchers and our schedule during school ball and travel ball allow us to compete with great players and pitchers. There isn't a single pitcher that stands out in my mind as being tough as Zach Farmer.
