January 31, 2013
Alex Lind, OF, Elder HS, Class of 2013
PBR: Why did you choose Lake Erie?
Lind: I really liked Coach McGee and what he has done to get Lake Erie to a rising program. I felt like LEC was where I could make the earliest impact. The college and campus was everything I was looking for with it being a smaller town but also having Cleveland close.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Lind: Heidelberg and I had small interest in Thomas More (football)
PBR: Where did Lake Erie first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?
Lind: I think Lake Erie first saw my video on PBR. After my visit to Lake Erie, talking to Coach McGee on a weekly basis best developed my relationship.
PBR: Lake Erie seems to be a program on the rise, especially with this current recruiting class. How did that impact your decision to go up north?
Lind: Lake Erie has won more game each of the past six years since Coach McGee has been there. Seeing and knowing one of the other recruits really helped my decision knowing the team can be good.
PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Lake Erie?
Lind: My speed and read on the ball are my biggest strengths. I feel I will help on the base paths and
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?
Lind: I played for the Cincinnati Astros and the most memorable experience was probably a diving catch to save two runs during a win while playing at Bellarmine.
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?
Lind: My teammate at Elder, Joe Ramstetter.
