PBR: Why did you choose Akron?
Nottingham: Akron has great facilities. I built a very good relationship with all of the coaches throughout the recruiting process and believe that they can help me get to the next level.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Nottingham: Kent State, Ohio University, Winthrop, Evansville, Cincinnati
PBR: Where did the Akron coaches first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
Nottingham: I attended Akron's camp last October, then saw them at almost every PBR showcase. I talked to coach Ford regularly and felt very comfortable with the coaches.
PBR: You recently attended PBR’s Top Prospect Showcase. How did that help you in the recruiting process?
Nottingham: The PBR showcase helped me display my skills in front of schools that I was interested in.
PBR: You have made your commitment very early. Why did you chose to make your decision so soon and are you finished with the recruiting process?
Nottingham: I committed because I knew Akron was the school I wanted to go to. Yes I think Akron is a great fit for me.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Nottingham: They expect me to come in and compete out of the bullpen right away.
PBR: What team do you play for in the summer?
Nottingham: Ohio Elite (Valentine)
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Nottingham: My dad definitely has the most impact on me as a baseball player. He is always helping me out and supporting me with everything.
PBR: What were your stats this spring season at Massillon Jackson?
Nottingham: I had a 6-1 record. I pitched 39 innings with 54 strikeouts. 2.4 ERA
PBR: Who is the toughest hitterer that you have faced in Ohio?
Nottingham: Dom Iero
