PBR: Why did you choose Ohio University?
Rogers: First, I love the Athens campus and the athletic facilities. Second, the new coaching staff has a very high level of expectation for the team and I want to be apart of a program that's going to make me better.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Rogers: Akron, Wright State, Ashland, and Marietta
PBR: Coach Smith was just recently hired to be the new head coach at OU. How does it feel to be a part of his first recruit?
Rogers: I'm excited to be his first recruit at OU. I am very lucky to have an opportunity to play for Coach Smith.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you compete?
Rogers: They saw me play at the Cincinnati Flames Tournament this summer.
PBR: What role does Coach Smith expect you to play during your first year on campus?
Rogers: To learn how to practice and play at a high level. Also to balance my academics with baseball.
PBR: How does it feel to be a part of a Division 1 baseball program?
Rogers: I'm very excited about it. It has been my dream to play D1 baseball.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Rogers: Hands down its been Brian Mannino. I've been working out with him for 2 years. He has taken me to the next level. I wouldn't be playing D1 baseball without his training.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience playing summer ball?
Rogers: Ohio Elite and Coach Huesman. Winning the Cincinnati Flames Wooden Bat tournament. We were short handed on pitching and players but found a way to win it all.
PBR: What were your stats last season for Cambridge?
Rogers: Avg .482 OBP.595 SLG.694 41 HITS 31 RBI 15 Dbls 1HR 21 Walks
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced in Ohio?
Rogers: Logan Cozart, from Indian Valley High School. He will be my teammate at OU.
