PBR: Why did you choose Lake Erie?

DeCamp:  To me Lake Erie was just the right fit. They're giving me a great opportunity to play all four years and it was an offer I couldn't turn down.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
DeCamp: I was considering Wright State, Ohio, and a few other D1 and D2 Schools.

PBR: Where did Lake Erie first see you? How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?
DeCamp: I believe they saw me at the crossroads showcase the summer I was going into my junior year, they called me last summer and quickly I developed a relationship with Coach McGee.

PBR: Lake Erie seems to be a program on the rise, how did that impact your decision to go up north?
DeCamp: Lake Erie seems to be a school that’s going places fast; the colder climate up North really didn’t affect my decision making as far as playing in a certain type of weather.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
DeCamp: The coaches want me to get in the lineup as a freshman. They said I can definitely play first base for them my first year but also I have a chance to play 3rd base as well.

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that you will help Lake Erie?
DeCamp: I’m hoping to help Lake Erie offensively; Hitting is the strong point of my game.

PBR: After such a dramatic State Title run last year, what are your expectations for 2012? As a senior, how will your role change with the team?
DeCamp: I think we may have a chance to repeat since we didn't lose any players on the roster, we were all juniors’ sophomores and freshman last year. The key for us is to not get in over our heads and to just go out there and play like we have nothing to lose, that’s what we did during our tournament run. You just have to take it one game at a time.

PBR: What was the most memorable experience from this summer?
DeCamp: Hitting 4 homeruns in 3 games in front of Coach McGee haha.

PBR: What were your stats for this spring season at DeSales?
DeCamp: I’m not positive but I think my season batting average was 432'...I didn’t have as many at bats though being out from injury for 3 weeks.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced in Ohio?
DeCamp: The toughest pitcher I’ve faced from Ohio was probably this 18 year old pitcher from Team Cincinnati. He topped out at 94 against us and is going to Arkansas. I don’t know his name.
