Micah Miniard, a 6-foot-7, 185-pound RHP from Boyle County HS, recently became one of a few players from the class of 2014 to verbally commit.  We recently caught up with Miniard to discuss his decision.

PBR: Why did you choose Western Kentucky? 

Miniard: I loved the campus, and I also really liked the coaching staff. 

PBR: What other schools were you considering? 

Miniard: Louisville and Kentucky 

PBR: How does it feel to have your commitment behind you before you take the field your junior year? 

Miniard: I feel like all the pressure is off of me, and I have nothing to do but get better. 

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you play? 

Miniard: At their Labor day showcase 

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your freshman year? 

Miniard: I have no clue, I’m just going to go in and work hard every day and see what happens. 

PBR: What would you consider your biggest strength as a player? 

Miniard: I work hard and I’m highly coachable. 

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on your baseball career? 

Miniard: There have been several coaches but probably the biggest impact is my parents through their support. 

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer? 

Miniard: The mustangs out of Danville, Kentucky 

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment? 

Miniard: I have had a few memorable moments, but I hope my most memorable are yet to come. 

PBR: Who is the toughest hitter you have faced in the state of Kentucky?

Miniard: I have faced many good hitters, can’t name the toughest. 

PBR: What are your goals for your next two seasons season at Boyle County? 

Miniard: I want to win a region championship this year and my senior year.
