PBR: Why did you choose Truman State?
Smith: I chose Truman for many different reasons like my relationship with Head Coach Dan Davis, the players and teammate Ben Hachten gave me great feedback, and the school itself was exactly was I was looking for.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
Smith: Truman was my first choice but I was also looking into South Carolina Beauford and Bellarmine University.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you play?
Smith: Coach Davis saw my video before they saw me in person.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play your freshman year?
Smith: They expect me to come into the lineup my freshman year.
PBR: What would you consider your biggest strength as a player?
Smith: I take pride in my arm speed and control when throwing across the diamond and also my speed.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on your baseball career?
Smith: Mike Clark has been with me since I was an 8th grader. He has helped me improve my game ever since on and off the field. He has had the greatest impact on me.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer?
Smith: I play for Phenom Baseball Academy in Louisville, Ky.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment?
Smith: Making the game winning diving catch to send us to the regional final game my junior year.
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced in the state of Kentucky?
Smith: Ian Tompkins from Saint Xavier.
PBR: What are your goals for your senior season at Oldham County?
Smith: I want to be District Champions as well as Region champions and go to the state tournament. Personally, I would like to hit for a high average and make the least amount of errors as possible.
