Q & A with Oneida HS IF/RHP Mitch Cavanagh
April 3, 2014
Name: Mitch Cavanagh
High School: Oneida HS
College Commitment: St. John’s University
Position: IF/RHP
PBR New York sat down with Oneida HS standout IF/RHP Mitch Cavanagh for a question and answer session.
PBR: Tell me about your training and preparation for the upcoming 2014 baseball season.
Cavanagh: One of the biggest things I have done to prepare this offseason was getting in the gym. I lifted pretty hard all fall and winter and I am anxious to see the results on the field!
PBR: Could you describe your strengths and weaknesses?
Cavanagh: I would like to say my biggest strength is how much I love the game. Being passionate about the game makes it easy to work hard and get better. Some things I would like to improve on are speed on the base paths, as well as hitting the ball consistently to all fields with power.
PBR: Who is the top player you will face this high school season in your opinion?
Cavanagh: Zack Kesterson (New Hartford HS).
PBR: Who is the top team you will face this high school season in your opinion?
Cavanagh: A good match-up for us this year will be New Hartford. They have a strong group of seniors with a lot of varsity baseball experience, as well as our group of seniors from Oneida.
