Brian Bohman is 5-foot-8, 170-pound catcher from McDowell HS. The strong armed catcher who throws 80mph from the crouch, has committed to Penn State Behrend. Prep Baseball Report caught up with Bohman to ask him some questions regarding his college decision.

                                   

PBR:  Where have you decided to attend college and why did you make this choice?
Bohman: I have decided to attend Penn State Behrend. I made my decision because of the distance from home, the great coaching staff, and their winning tradition.

PBR:  What other schools were you considering?
Bohman: I was also considering Allegheny, Mount Union, Fairmont State, Tiffin and Fredonia State.

PBR:  Was distance from home a factor in your decision?
Bohman: Yes, I wanted to stay fairly close to home where I was comfortable.

PBR:  Where did the coaches first see you?  How did your relationship develop with their coaching staff?
Bohman: Coach Benim saw me at one of his camps a couple years back and saw me multiple other times at games throughout the years. My relationship with Coach Benim first started with a phone call. Since that time he and his staff have contacted me through e-mails and I have made a visit.

PBR:  What role do the coaches expect you to play your first year on campus?
Bohman: They expect me to compete for the starting catching spot.

PBR:  What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help your team?
Bohman: I feel my bat is my biggest strength and hopefully it will help me get on the field to help my team.

PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most memorable experience from this past summer?
Bohman: I played for Millcreek Senior Legion. My most memorable moment was the Pemberville Tournament where I had a lot of success at the plate.

PBR:  What is your current GPA?
Bohman: My current GPA is a 3.0

PBR:  Now that you have your commitment out of the way, what are your goals both individually and for the team going into your senior season?
Bohman: My goals for this season are to become an all-around better player and to help our team compete for a state championship.

PBR: How did Prep Baseball Report aid you in gaining exposure as a potential college baseball recruit?
Bohman: I was contacted by several different schools that saw me at PBR showcases I went to.
