Mid-Atlantic Summer Championships

Compact athletic frame at 5-foot-8, 160-pounds. Miller-Bopp threw versus the Braves National 15U and had a tremendous outing, only giving up one run on the day. Is a competitor on the mound, displaying ability to control 2+ pitches while pounding the strike zone. Delivery has some pace, slight sink and drive off the backside, and lands on line at foot strike. Short deceptive arm action and showed some arm speed out of a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was 78-79 mph and bumped 80 a few times. Curveball had some depth with a 12/6 shape and was thrown with conviction. Competes every pitch and does not give in to counts, or situations.

Preseason All-State I

Solid athletic frame at 5-foot-8, 160-pounds. Hits from the right side with an upright slightly open stance, hands load with rhythm to a slight bat wrap, and lands on line. Bat is quick to the zone with a flat path and an uphill finish. Showed some gap to gap potential with power. Lower half finishes with some aggression and the exit velo was 87 mph. Pre-contact prep hop with active feet on approach and tend to settle early pre-catch. Fields out front with a quick clean exchange at center. Arm action is short and quick throwing from a three-quarter arm slot across the infield at 79 mph. Home-1st was 4.45. Simple footwork in the delivery getting to a consistent balance point. Has a bit of drop and drive to the delivery getting down the mound in line with home plate. Shoulders are level and lands on line. Average arm circle throwing with some effort from a three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was 77-81. Showed feel for the curveball. The curveball showed depth at a steeper 11/5 break sitting at 64-65 mph. Slider sat at 68-69 and backed out of the hand at times, but had some arm speed to be another weapon for Miller-Bopp down the road. Changeup showed late fade and fastball intent at 70-71 mph. Interesting prospect to follow of the next year or so as he continues to grow and add strength.
