Prince George topped Dinwiddie 3-0 as the Royal's Buck Forbes threw a complete game shutout in the win Thursday night.

Thursday's matchup featured two top 25 teams in VA/DC polls as #14 Dinwiddie sent Seth Mayberry (Longwood) to the hill and #16 Prince George went to their pitcher, Forbes. The two combined for a total of 17 strikeouts in the contest while only allowing five hits.

Dinwiddie tried to mount a rally in the opening frame after a walk by Brian Sheeder (Lynchburg) to lead things off, followed by a single by Tomas Sanchez (VCU), but the Generals were held scoreless by a terrific play from the second baseman, Evan Kozin.

Prince George claimed the lead in the bottom of the fourth to go ahead 1-0. Michael Peterson (Longwood) led the inning off with a liner to right and would later come around to score on a fielder's choice groundout by Jacob Farrar.

The Royals were able to hang some insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth. Tevin Tucker (West Virginia) drew a walk to start it off; Justin Starke then drew another walk following a strikeout to put runners on the corners. Mayberry's day would end bringing on reliever Zach Donovan to try and keep it a one run game. Prince George executed a squeeze with Farrar to score Tucker; they would another run when Kozen's single scored Starke making it a 3-0 ballgame.

Forbes struck out the side in the final frame to complete his shutout to earn the win for Prince George. He managed to only allow four runners to reach, two hits and two walks, while striking out six in his complete game performance.

Peterson was the only player on the day to collect multiple hits, including a double, and also scoring a run. Farrar collected two RBI's in the game.

Mayberry took the loss allowing three runs, two earned, on three hits, while walking four, and striking out 11 hitters in five and third innings of work. Sanchez and Luke Costley collected the lone hits for Dinwiddie.

Prince George moves to 2-2 on the season picking up the big win, and Dinwiddie is handed their first loss of the year dropping to 2-1.
