Preseason Preview: Parkland HS (District 11)

The Parkland Trojans are coming off a 15-7 campaign in 2012 and will look to their offense to supply run support for a very young pitching staff in 2013. The Trojans return four starters and three pitchers with varsity pitching experience. Coach Tony Galucy realizes he has a young group of pitchers, but he is excited about the depth of the staff. Following is a breakdown of players that Galucy hopes will make an impact in 2013.
Class of 2013
- C Damin Muth, 5-foot-10, 170-pounds - a Bloomsburg University recruit who hit .406 with 20 RBI in 2012. Muth is ranked No. 138 in the PA Class of 2013.
- OF/RHP, Tyler Graeff, 6-foot-2, 200-pounds - hit .328 with 16 RBI in 2012.
- OF Brandon Evans, 5-foot-9, 150-pounds - hit .304 in 2012.
Class of 2014
- C/OF Zack Merkle, 5-foot-9, 180-pounds - hit .200 in 2012.
- RHP/2B Gabe Mosser, 6-foot-1, 160-pounds - threw two innings in 2012, but will see an increased role on the mound this season.
- 2B/RHP Alex Flynn, 5-foot-11, 155-pounds - will see his first varsity action this spring.
Class of 2015
- SS/RHP Chris Rabasco, 5-foot-11, 185-pounds - hit .391 and had a 2.00 ERA in seven innings of work as a freshman in 2012. Rabasco is ranked No. 16 in the PA Class of 2015 and No.93 in the PBR combined rankings.
- LHP Connor Higgins, 6-foot-2, 185-pounds - will see his first varsity action in 2012.
- RHP/1B Rhett Jacoby, 6-foot-3, 185-pounds - will see his first varsity action in 2012. Jacoby is ranked No. 27 in the PA Class of 2015 rankings.
