COVID ended the 2020 season early throughout the State but as things progress quickly for the 2021 high school season, it’s time for us to preview teams from around the State in the Yearly Preseason Preview. Schedules are being adapted to fit the ever-changing landscape and though this season may look different than history has shown us, coaches/staff, players, families, and our team are preparing for 2021 to be as successful as possible.
We’ve submitted the Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state and their responses have been flooding in. Over the next several weeks, we’ll be using their detailed insight on our team-by-team previews ahead of the 2021 season leading into the California Power 25 Rankings.

SEASON OUTLOOK:
Returning 8 of the 9 starters and Pitchers 1-5 from 2020 sets the Ocean View Seahawks up to be ready to attack 2021 with a coherent group of players who know each other and have the experience of playing together for a couple of seasons now. This maturity and growth have set Coach Van Maanen up with a lot to like about the 2021 Seahawks believing they will be one of the top teams in the Golden West League. The Seahawks expect their offense to be their driving force in 2021 ready to attack opposing pitchers with depth from 1-9. The consistency in their arms will also be a major strength for 2021 and will be counted on to extend their season in the deep and competitive Division 2 of the Southern Section. Continual growth will be a key asset for the Seahawks to have a successful 2021 like they’re aiming for.
