The Notre Dame Spartans will have an extremely young roster heading into 2013, one year removed from finishing a 10-10 season which ended with a first round District 11 playoff loss to Marian Catholic. Coach Kevin Hezel will look to senior Jim OMalley for leadership to attempt to bring the young lineup along slowly. Hezel sees his team's defense and dedicated, hardworking young players as a major plus leading into the new campaign. Following is a look at some of the players that should make an impact in the Notre Dame lineup this spring.
- 3B Jim OMalley, Class of 2013 - OMalley is a 5-foot-8, 175-pound right-handed hitter who will be counted on for his senior leadership.
- OF Jacob Regenye, Class of 2014 - Regenye is a 5-foot-8, 170-pound left-handed hitter who will patrol the outfield this season.
- RHP Ryan Krechel, Class of 2015 - Krechel is a 6-foot, 160-pound prospect that will be the ace of the Spartans pitching staff.
Hezel pointed out three freshmen that he feels have the talent to make an immediate impact. SS Chris Bahara, 2B Connor Naughton and OF Brendan Murphy will all see time in the varsity lineup in 2013.
