COVID ended the 2020 season early throughout the State but as things progress quickly for the 2021 high school season, it’s time for us to preview teams from around the State in the Yearly Preseason Preview. Schedules are being adapted to fit the ever-changing landscape and though this season may look different than history has shown us, coaches/staff, players, families, and our team are preparing for 2021 to be as successful as possible.
We’ve submitted the Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state and their responses have been flooding in. Over the next several weeks, we’ll be using their detailed insight on our team-by-team previews ahead of the 2021 season leading into the California Power 25 Rankings.

SEASON OUTLOOK:
Coming off a Central Coast Section Division 1 Championship in 2019, the Spartans were looking to carry that momentum into 2020. Alas, COVID-19 changed those plans and the Spartans shift their attention to a 2021 season that’s going to have them competing in the tough Santa Clara Valley Athletic League. Mountain View knows the battles in the season will prepare them for a playoff run as they’ve done before and they’ll be looking to utilize their team speed and defense to make another playoff run this season. Their offense will be asked to continue to develop and support their rotation that has arms at the front who opposing teams will not like facing. Coach Mims has brought the best out of the group for a few years now and will be looking to keep that development focus for Mountain View’s continued long-term success.
