New Episode LIVE now! At The Yard Podcast

COVID ended the 2020 season early throughout the State but as things progress quickly for the 2021 high school season, it’s time for us to preview teams from around the State in the Yearly Preseason Preview. Schedules are being adapted to fit the ever-changing landscape and though this season may look different than history has shown us, coaches/staff, players, families, and our team are preparing for 2021 to be as successful as possible.

We’ve submitted the Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state and their responses have been flooding in. Over the next several weeks, we’ll be using their detailed insight on our team-by-team previews ahead of the 2021 season leading into the California Power 25 Rankings.

SEASON OUTLOOK:

The Liberty Lions are expecting to compete for a league title in the BVAL this season and Coach Lonsdale is excited about the roster he’s got assembled. This team will have a lot of assets including it’s ability to pitch, play defense, run the bases and put together competitive AB’s. The BVAL is known for it’s competitive league season with the Lions being used to battling it out against opposing teams for the chance to hoist the title. This roster for the Lions will have a bit of a mix with some quality returners backed by youth ready to make their name. The offense will need ro manufacture some runs as it’s light on power, but with their team speed, Coach Lonsdale sees them being able to put pressure on opposing defenses. If the youth takes major steps in the shortened season, the Lions could be building a team to watch in the NCS for years to come.
