Preseason Preview: Green Lake-Princeton HS

Today’s Preseason Preview highlights Green Lake-Princeton HS. Last season Head Coach Tim Poock and the Tigersharks were not able to extend their three year run of conference champs finishing second in the Trailways North Conference to the Monticello Hilltoppers. The Tigersharks will be returning their No. 1 pitcher on the mound in senior Noah Polcyn the depth of their staff could be an issue but Polcyn will look to lead the staff again in 2013. Coach Poock will also be returning five starters on offense which should make for a formidable lineup.

Noah Polcyn, the Tigersharks top returning senior is a 6-foot, 165-pound two way player who went 8-2 on the mound with a 2.85 ERA. When not on the mound Polcyn is the Tigershark shortstop and hit .359 last season to lead the team in batting average.

Connor Danke and Joe Langenfeld will both be expected to contribute big numbers to the offense as both are returning with .300+ batting averages. Danke, a Class of 2013 utility player hit .314 last season and should be a big part of the lineup in 2013. Langenfeld (Class of 2014) is a 5-foot-9, 160-pound junior who hit .333 last season as a sophomore.

The Tigersharks and Coach Poock hope to get back on top of the Trailways North Conference in 2013 as they have won the conference 6 of the last 9 years.
