STAT RAT:
The Huskies had 6 sophomores and 1 freshman who saw significant innings and will be called upon for leadership this year.

BOTTOM LINE:  The Huskies are coming off of their second consecutive appearance in the 5A District Tournament.  They are poised to take a jump and make some noise in 2017 with a nice mix of veteran players and underclassmen who got their feet wet last year.  Look for Murphy Gienger 2019, .281 avg. with 6 extra base hits and 5 stolen bases to break out this season.  Catcher Brock Johnson .341 with 16 hits will be a staple in the line up.  On the mound the Huskies will turn to Javier Rodriguez 4 appearances with a 1-1 record to pick up the innings vacated by Minnick and Casas. Brett Johnson and Corbin Geisendorff are two additional players who will be called upon to help the Huskies take another step forward in 2017.
