Scouting Report

3/06/21: Has a lean, medium frame agile body. Good actions and fluidity to his game. His frame over time will fill out and get stronger. He has a classic infielder’s body, showed he has ability with range, speed and and a well above average glove. His overall defensive talent is advanced. His glove was sure and arm was accurate. He displayed confidence in all areas. Has a small, soft, leg kick to start his swing. This allows timing for his hands and loads up. Has good a trigger that translates to strong-barreled balls and hard, loud contract in front. Line drive hitter by style that has small power in the swing that can increase, as he gets stronger. Good plate coverage and instincts offensively. Ran a 6.85 60-yard dash. Moved swift and balanced. Has chance to play up middle at next level and be an offensive productive player. The feel of game he displayed is advanced and knowledgeable.

Scouting Report

3/06/21: Very strong, athletic, powerful frame with agility and quickness. Physical looking athlete that exudes power and strength now. As a RH hitter, he stands tall and erect to start his swing. Hands shoulder height and leads with a turned in front knee kick with slight tap to ground before his strides reaches out. This tap keeps him back behind the baseball and creates his timing to his swing. Displays good bat speed and extension to his swing with solid contact to barrel with explosion finish. Projects to have power in the future as he continues to mature as a hitter. Ran a 6.92 60-yard dash time with smooth gliding running style. Upright posture running style with strong strides. His hands are soft and had a good glove to hand release to throw the baseball from the left side of diamond. His footwork was quick and swift. Showed glove side range with ease. Defensive ability is transferrable to the OF in future as his athletic profile will allow him chances to play all over the diamond. The combination of power and speed and tools makes Bowen a very interesting prospect in baseball. He is a gifted football player on a national level so time will tell. Bright future in the game of baseball either way.
