On Sunday February 17th PBR Virginia/DC will host the Preseason All-State at the Virginia Sports Complex facility in Ruther Glen, VA. The biggest event prior to the high school season in Virginia will feature some of the top players and prospects around the commonwealth and put them all on one stage in front of the PBR scouting staff. As with all PBR events, all players will get their performance videoed and professionally edited to update or start their PBR Profile. Today we spotlight one of the players on the roster for the event.

Scouting Report

5.22.16:  Kleinfelter stands 6-1 and has a strong athletic frame. Throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a long, loose arm action that is quick, generating velocity with some effort. Shoulders are level, stays on line to a square landing with a slight fall off finish. Fastball had hard run, sitting 84-86. Slowed arm a bit on curveball, which had gradual 11/5 break at 64-67. Slowed arm a bit on fading change-up that was 73.

10.14.15:  Kleinfelter has an athletic frame and throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a tall and fall delivery. He has a short, quick arm action that generates easy velocity. His shoulders are closed an elevated as he takes a short stride to a slightly closed landing before falling off slightly as he finishes. Kleinfelter’s fastball has good downward plane to it and some late run, sitting 81-83. He switched between two-seamers and four-seamers, with his two-seamers having more sink to them. His curveball had late 11/5 break to it and ran 67-68. His slider ran 77-81 and played more like a good cutter with 10/4 break, with the potential to become a plus pitch as the spin tightens. His changeup was thrown with good armspeed and had heavy fading action to it, running 74-78.
