Scouting Report: 12/15/16- The uncommitted 6-foot-2, 170-pounder had one of the best performances throughout the weekend. With a projectable, athletic frame, he had a balanced, confident approach at the plate with above average bat speed, quick hands, and good hand-eye coordination. During batting practice he consistently found the barrel and made hard, loud contact spraying the ball all over while also registering a 92 mph exit velocity off a tee. Behind the plate, he showed a strong arm with pop times in the 1.99-2.07 range and a velocity of 78 mph on his throws down to second base. He also displayed his athleticism by running the fastest 60-yard dash time at a 6.64. With the present set of tools and a projectable frame, Gutcher shouldn’t be uncommitted for too much longer.
