The Virginia/DC Preseason All State was held on Saturday, February 11th at Tuckahoe Sports Inc in Henrico, VA. 40 athletes from across the state were in attendance and performed in front of the PBR scouting staff. We began the evaluations process with our Stats Story and Rapid Reaction. Today we begin our player analysis from the event with our Corner Infielder Analysis. A very talented a deep group as a whole with plenty of offensive talent and players to watch.
Top Prospects
Bradley Hanner RHP/SS Orange County 2017 (Patrick Henry CC)
Hanner is 6-2 with an athletic frame, hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, heel lift stride and slight load back, good rhythm. Good hips and balance throughout swing, level swing path with extension through the ball. Good approach working the middle of the field, exit velocity was 88. At short, above average footwork and above average hands. Clean exchange, throws from three-quarters arm slot with fast arm, shortstop velocity of 91.
Gregory Ryan SS Benedictine 2018 (Pittsburgh)
Ryan is 6-1 with an athletic frame, hits from the right side from a slightly open slightly crouched stance. Short stride on line and short load back with a bit of a wrap, good rhythm, good hips and some balance throughout swing. Short level path, quick bat with some extension through ball. Line drive hitter with projection for more power, exit velocity was 93, showed good approach. At short, good rhythm, fields with wide base, quick clean footwork and soft hands. Quick exchange, plays through ball well, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short, quick arm, infield velocity was 87. Ran a 4.43 home to first.
Zachary Thomas SS Eastern View 2018
Thomas is 6-3 with a lanky frame, hits from the right side from a wide, balanced stance. Toe tap stride, smooth load back with slight wrap, some hip explosion and some balance to swing. Uphill path, line drive swing with extension through the ball, showed pull approach and some bat speed, exit velocity was 88. At short, good quick feet and soft hands, fields with good base. Quick clean exchange, works through ball, throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, short quick arm action, position velocity of 82. Home to first was 4.14.

Thomas Aguila 2B Fairfax 2018
Aguila is 5-9 with an athletic frame. Hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance, strides on line with smooth load into wrap, hips get through and maintains balance. Short level line drive swing, good approach using the middle of the field, exit velocity was 75. In the infield, average footwork and soft hands, clean transfer. Throws from high three-quarters arm slot with short arm action, position velocity of 78. Home to first time was 4.31.
Joshua Dawson SS/OF Amelia County 2017
Dawson is 5-11 with a lankier athletic frame, hits from the right side from an upright open stance. Strides on line and smooth load back with some wrap, good hip rotation and some balance during swing. Pull approach at the plate, working uphill through the ball with good extension, will have some power to pull side, exit velocity was 87. In the infield, quick feet and average hands, very quick exchange and release. Short arm action from low three-quarters arm slot, infield velocity was 86.
Jack Dooley SS South Lakes 2018
Dooley is 5-8 with an athletic frame, hits from the right side from an athletic stance. Early stride on line and load back, hips get through and he has some balance to swing. Short to the ball, working slightly uphill with a line drive swing and a slight pull approach, exit velocity was 80. At short, quick feet, average hands, exchange is quick and clean, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action, position velocity was 72. Home to first time was 4.34.
Frank Mayosky SS/RHP Goochland 2017
Mayosky is 5-11 with a lanky frame, hits from the right side from a balanced athletic stance. Short stride on line, smooth load back with slight wrap, some hip explosion and good balance throughout swing. Short, level line drive swing, good approach working the middle of the field, exit velocity of 83. At short, above average footwork, good wide base when fielding, above average hands. Clean transfer, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action, position velocity was 74. Home to first time of 4.44.
